About the Presenter: Shahrokh Javaheri, MD
Shahrokh Javaheri, MD, serves as a Sleep Physician at Bethesda North Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio, and is Professor Emeritus of Medicine in the Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. He is also an Adjunct Professor of Medicine in the Division of Cardiology at The Ohio State University.
Dr. Javaheri completed his clinical and research fellowship in pulmonary medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School. He joined the University of Cincinnati in 1983, where he established a clinical and research sleep laboratory at the Cincinnati VA Medical Center. His research has focused extensively on sleep-related breathing disorders and cardiovascular disease and has been published in numerous leading peer-reviewed journals, including the New England Journal of Medicine, The Lancet, Annals of Internal Medicine, Circulation, Journal of the American College of Cardiology, European Heart Journal, Journal of Clinical Sleep Medicine, SLEEP, and CHEST.
An internationally recognized educator and researcher, Dr. Javaheri has delivered more than 300 invited national and international lectures and is widely recognized for his contributions to the understanding of sleep-disordered breathing and cardiovascular disease.
Dr. Javaheri serves as an Associate Editor of SLEEP and Frontiers in Sleep and is the Section Editor for Sleep-Related Breathing Disorders and Cardiovascular Diseases in Principles and Practice of Sleep Medicine, the leading textbook in the field.
