About the Presenter:
Dr. Lalich received his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of North Dakota School of Medicine in Grand Forks North Dakota. He completed his residency training in Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery at Mayo Clinic Graduate School of Medical Education in Rochester Minnesota. He is board-certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery. He practices at M Health Fairview in Minnesota and acts as the Chair of Surgery and Chief of Staff for M Health Fairview Lakes Medical Center. He has special interests in sleep surgery, head and neck cancer, and endocrine surgery.
Description
The talk will include an overview of surgical management of obstructive sleep apnea. The talk will highlight the new technology of upper airway stimulation to treat moderate to severe obstructive sleep apnea in CPAP intolerant patients. We will discuss clinical indications and criteria for implantation, as well as success and outcomes of upper airway stimulation.
