About the Presenter: Michael Grandner, PhD, MTR, CBSM, FAASM
Michael Grandner, PhD, MTR, CBSM, FAASM, is Director of the Sleep and Health Research Program and Professor of Psychiatry and Medicine at the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Tucson. He also serves as Director of the Arizona Behavioral Sleep Medicine Clinic at Banner–University Medical Center, where his clinical practice focuses on evidence-based, non-pharmacologic treatments for sleep disorders.
Dr. Grandner’s research explores the relationship between sleep and cardiometabolic health, including obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, daytime functioning, and longevity. An internationally recognized leader in sleep health, he has authored more than 350 peer-reviewed publications and has received numerous honors from organizations including the Sleep Research Society, the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, and the American Heart Association.
He has served on grant review panels for the National Institutes of Health and the U.S. Department of Defense, as well as advisory and consensus committees for the NCAA and the International Olympic Committee. A sought-after speaker and consultant, Dr. Grandner has testified before the U.S. Congress on the role of sleep in health and performance, and his work has been featured extensively in television, radio, and print media in more than 50 countries.
